Kids at weddings!
Now this may be controversial opinion, but as a photographer I love seeing kids at weddings!
Maybe I feel this way because I do lots of family shoots & love taking kids photos too! Kids at weddings bring a different energy & fun to lots of a wedding day. Kids are happy to pull faces, react in the moment, not worry about the camera & dance like no one is watching!
Now I know lots of people choose to have a child-free day and of course, I totally respect that too. Much of a wedding day can be ‘boring’ for little ones, who have to be on best behaviour, be quiet during ceremony & speeches.
Kids at weddings – Your own or important family members!
Many couples, have kids before they get married and then these little ones are a super important part of their lives & of course should be featured on the day. These kids at weddings, become key people for me to photograph too. I will try and get some shots in the morning when they are as smart as going to be. Or when they chilling too x

If you have your own children, or close family where their children are super important to you. Then these kids are lovely to have as part of your day. Often nieces & nephews are given the role of page boys & flower girls and that is lovely.

And if you have an open policy with inviting kids to weddings – then know they can have a family portrait, a photo with their siblings – That I will use my family photography skills to get smiley & moment photographs too.

These two were brother & sister and made me laugh all day. I made sure I got getting ready photos of them, moments in the group shots & even a funny moment on the dance floor too.
Pre wedding shoot – bring the kids along!
If you book a wedding with me, I do a pre shoot with every wedding. And I am more than happy for you to bring kids along so they get to know me & I am friendly face by the time the wedding day rolls around.
Now all choices about your wedding are up to you! If you choose to have kids at your wedding know I am fully onboard. And if your choose to have only immediate family children involved or no little ones at all – we will still make magic!
