As a hybrid shooter, I shared how I juggle capturing both photos and filming clips for a highlight film.
I gave practical tips on staying organised, running on time, and making sure you get all the shots you need.
I also offered insight into how I approach storytelling during morning prep — which shots are essential and which are bonus moments.
I talked through how I manage busy environments, with lots of people around, and how to get others to support rather than disrupt the flow of the prep.

Hybrid Wedding Photography & Content Creation Workshop
I’m a photographer first and a filmmaker second - but it might surprise you how achievable it is to be a hybrid shooter without an assistant.
You already have the equipment, the client base, and weddings in the diary - and could be charging more per wedding by adding a short film.
I encouraged photographers to think about upgrading what they offer to their couples, sharing top tips on handling the trickier parts of a wedding day, key camera settings when filming, and what to include in each highlight film to create those happy tears.

I’ve been offering both photography and short highlight films since 2017. Most couples now book me for both, so it’s a really natural part of how I work.

You would definitely get something from the day, but most of the examples are based around weddings, and some of the content focuses on how to manage both photography and filming on a wedding day.
You’ll need some kind of editing software if you want to edit your footage.
You can invest in video lights, tripods and audio recorders — but you can also get started with the camera you already own.
