I want to show you some wedding photos from Hannah & Alfredos wedding at The Old Marylebone Town hall from the summer of 2026. It was an EPIC celebration in the sunshine! They booked me for just 2.5 hours for their mid week celebration.
And in this blog – Let me tell you how a sometimes a short day’s coverage is best, how we can work best to get the most out of our time together & get you photos that look like this…
There is something magical about a London Town Hall Wedding.
The bustle of the traffic going past. People tooting their horns & cheering.
It can be intimate, with only your most important people in attendance.
It can be the ‘legal bit’ with a bigger day planned. Or you can book a larger room & invite lots of people & then go on to somewhere else.
It can be just the two of you with some witnesses. In fact, I have been a witness at a town hall wedding for a couple.
Ultimately, you can make it your own.
Which often means it is not a full day of photography – but perhaps a ceremony & then on to a dinner or simply a few drinks in a London pub. Either way you can still have wonderful photos to look back on & the iconic steps of Marylebone town hall is a special place to have them!
How does costing work for shorter coverage?
Most of my wedding bookings are full days, but sometimes I will have room in my diary for shorter coverage. Especially if you are booking a town hall wedding for mid week. Sometimes 1-3 hours is all you need to cover the bits of the day that need photos.
For short coverage days (under 4 hours) I charge an hourly rate of £400 per hour. For smaller coverage weddings the only difference is I don’t offer a pre wedding shoot. I am more than happy to jump on a video call to chat all about your day & get all the logistics of timings, groups shots all sorted. And I promise you will still get lots of photographs!

When does your coverage start?
Some couples will want have ‘getting ready’ shots. And if this is the case, it’s great if you can book a hotel close by, and be in the same hotel (different or same rooms). I then have chance to get photos of both of you getting ready.
You will meet with a registrar typically 30 minutes & 15 minutes appointments before your ceremony time. So, we need factor time to get to the town hall & for me to potentially get shots of your guests arriving outside. You can choose if you see each other before the ceremony or rather wait till the ‘i do’s’.
For Hannah & Alfredo’s wedding I met their small wedding part outside & got some portraits of the page boy & flower girl as they played on the pillars. I was there to see Alfredo arrive & greet the guests.
Your coverage can start 30 mins before your ceremony time for guests arriving.
Or I can start 90 mins before you are going to leave the hotel. Final option is you and your partner can also meet me before the ceremony & do couple shots before your wedding, lots of choice!

What are Marylebone Town Hall ceremonies like?
A short ceremony with perhaps a reading & personal vows can be so special. At Hannah & Alfredos wedding the guests were invited to come up to the room & chat whilst Hannah was interviewed next door. This gave me a chance to get some photos before hand. I got candids of people chatting, some portraits of Hannah, her dad & the wedding kids before the ceremony started.
During the ceremony itself my plan is always to move around enough that I get lots of different angles & reactions of your guests watching on too. Hannah & Alfredo had written deeply personal vows and both found saying them super emotional.
Getting shots inside the building
Whilst your guests head to the steps ready to throw confetti you will get just a few minutes to get some photos inside. We had to be fairly quiet as other ceremonies were still going on. It is such an iconic space that its lovely to have these photos. As you come out in the hall way you can feel that ‘we just got married’ feeling beaming!
Slow time down in your heads. I will never want you to feel rushed, we move quickly through the building and get different shots as we go. Nailing every one!
The Iconic Confetti moment
Coming out on to the steps – your people will cheer & throw confetti and so too will anyone passing by. Get more confetti that you think you need! In my opinion paper circles are always the best choice, they float for longer & create epic amount of confetti in photos. Your Confetti are a great supplier! Depending on when you book your wedding it can be busy at the town hall. You will get a chance do your confetti, a few group shots (if you lucky) and then may be moved on to the left of the steps to get more photos as the next wedding will be due to exit.
The Staff at the town hall runs things with great precision and you will always have a slot. And within seconds we can get so many great confetti moments…
Couple shots
To get epic set of London couple shots its great if you can set aside 30 minutes post your groups shots to spend with me to get shots of the two of you. Send your guests on to the reception venue, some people book a route master, a sax player to get the party started, or hail cabs and get them on their way! Then you have some time with your partner to get epic shots.
With Hannah & Alfredo they wanted laid back cool vibes. Think sun glasses, champagne in the taxi, laid back walking shots, fun use of light & shadow, slightly editorial but mostly, just damn cool photographs!
We sat on the steps and took these walking & shots within the pillars as the next wedding was exiting for the confetti run. It was noisy, busy & a lot of distraction.
My top tip: Behave like you are the only two people there – and I will aim to make it look that way. If you FEEL it then we can MAKE it happen in the pictures!
Couple shots – Along the road & round the back!
We then took a wonder along the same road and use the building next door. It was about 5pm and so the sunlight was giving epic shadows to play with & there was less of a crowd. So some kisses felt less awkward!
Behind the Old Marylebone Town Hall is a ‘The Mews’. A beautiful cobbled street. It steps you back in time & give you a moment of quiet and calm after the hustle & bustle of the main road. This is a lovely spot for photos & many photographers sneak here to get some couple or bridal party photos.
I love the crossing the road photos & a dress walking detail shot with movement.
London Taxi – Photo opportunities
I am happy to hop in a taxi with you. We can always make this part of your couple portraits too. Its so fabulous to make it a moment, bring some bubbles & nice glasses & celebrate in style! I love the shots through the door as Hannah & Alfredo had some time to chat & breathe it all in together.
Celebrate with Friends & family – Drinks, nibbles & giggles!
Then its time to say hello to all your family & friends, to grab a drink, some food & take it all in. These photos are more relaxed & the chaos as it unfolds.

Group shots – Celebrate your important people!
Group shots are a moment to celebrate who you invited. Grab a photo with the gathering of special people you wanted to see you get married. Hannah & Alfredo had a long list of group shots and so we knew we wouldn’t have time to get them all done at the town hall steps. The couple scouted out a location opposite the pub that had a beautiful open square. This gave us a lovely space to have both shade, privacy & space to get all these shots in the bag.
I will always work with you on the run up to your wedding to set a group shot list. I like to have it saved as a tick list on my phone so I don’t miss any shots & we write them out in the best order to photograph them. Especially when the wedding is short coverage we need to be as organised & useful with our time.
When is time up for photos?!
I am easy & you can choose on how long you wish me to cover on your day. If you wish me to cover a dinner, speeches, a party, first dance you will likely need me longer!
On this wedding, we got one final photograph of them at the bar & they jumped in a cab to keep celebrating!
