THE PUMPKIN EXPERIENCE
Secretts has a farm shop & a massive ‘pick your own’. Each year they grow & sell their harvest of pumpkins – The field always looks incredible and such a fun experience to share with your kids in half term. You can find more info about Secretts Pumpkin week on their facebook page. and website: https://www.secretts.co.uk/pumpkin-week/
This year I am super lucky that they have let me have access to the field a day early. So on Friday 22nd before the field is open to the public I have x5 slots available. This will be a great day as will not be in a rush before the crowds arrive! I will be offering slots at 9am 10am 11am 2pm & 3pm on Friday 22nd October 2021.
Mini Shoots at Milford Pumpkin Field …
LAST TWO YEARS MINI SHOOTS AT MILFORD PUMPKIN FIELD!
It is super special to be able to experience the pumpkin field, and use the surrounding autumnal trees & farm – it all makes such a pretty backdrop for pictures. This is a mini shoot and so time will go super quick! We will try and get some photos of each of your children individually, siblings together and you all as a family. Before we head to the pumpkin field we are able to use the lovely grounds at Secretts so can get a mix of shots using the gorgeous autumnal colours at this time of year! Here are some of the shots I took over the last two years:
KEEP SCROLLING FOR TOP TIPS FOR THE SHOOT!
MY TOP TIPS FOR THE SHOOT
- FRIDAY 22nd OCTOBER – COME BEFORE THE CROWDS!!
This may be the BEST DAY to book in as the Pumpkin field will be quiet & not open to the public yet! Also you will get to see the field before it becomes a muddy mess!!
- IF YOU BOOK A SLOT WHEN PUMPKIN WEEK HAS BEGUN THEN MAKE SURE YOU GET TO THE PYO CAR PARK FOR 7.50AM!
Pumpkin week is super popular and I will start each shoot at 8am – So the quicker we can meet up & get to the field the better! Crowds will be arriving and queuing for 9am entry slot, so we want to make sure we are done with pumpkins by then! You don’t have to pay to get in if you meeting me at 8am – and can stay on the field looking at the pumpkins when our time is up.
- WEAR APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR & THINK ABOUT YOUR OUTFITS
If half term is super wet then the field will get very muddy! Do not wear your best shoes! Wellies, boots or old trainers are fine. If you are having photographs as a family it is well worth thinking about what you are going to wear. Autumnal colours work well with khaki greens, creams, mustard yellows, burnt orange & light blues. I would avoid wearing anything white, black or with lots of patterns. And of course make sure you are feeling cosy & warm! It can be pretty chilly so think wooly jumpers, hats & scarfs too! I have another blog that is about what to wear for your family shoot – You can CLICK HERE to read it.
- BRING A LARGE HEAVY DUTY BAG AND AN OLD TEA TOWEL!
If you would like to purchase some pumpkins after our shoot it’s best to have a heavy duty shopping bag to carry it in – They are heavy! The old tea towel is to wipe off the mud! Saves getting mud all over your hands or in your car!
- WHO ARE MINI SHOOTS AT PUMPKIN WEEK BEST FOR?
The nature of a mini shoot is that we don’t have as much time as a big family shoot. If your little one is under 2 the mud might be a bit much, I would not recommend these shoots for those with babies. These shoots are for families of 5 maximum and are great for toddler age & above. If you think your little ones are a little shy and a full family shoot, where we have more time and I can take pictures at your home would be better, you can check out my website for family shoot.
- ANY RULES FOR COVID-19?
I will of course make sure I tell you if I, or anyone in my household developed symptoms in the run up to the shoot – And you should do the same, better to be cautious at the moment. (If you needed to cancel for this reason I will hold a mini shoot in a local woodlands at another point). I will make sure all my kit is cleaned and will anti-bac my hands regularly throughout the shoot. We will be outdoors – but if you would like me to wear a mask whilst shooting I am more than happy to.
- WHAT DO WE DO IF SIDEWAYS RAINING ALL WEEK!?
Now I will do my best sun dance on the run up to half term but I can’t promise the weather will behave! Over the past two years I have had sunshine, fog & pouring rain! We still got some cracking shots! If the weather is too rainy at 8am on your shoot day we have a couple of choices. We can leave it till later in the day/ the week and make sure we pick a corner of the field with less people. I will be keeping a couple of dates later in the week as back up shoot days. The later in the week – the more muddy the field!!
THERE IS ONLY A FEW SLOTS SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BOOK ONE GET IN TOUCH ASAP! CONTACT ME
