What a year it has been! Lockdown has meant we have all missed out on celebrating & sharing memories with the people we love & care about – and sadly it also meant so many newborn baby shoots simply couldn’t happen. It made me feel so sad that this important but fleeting moment in time was being missed. I’m so pleased I can now offer you Virtual Newborn Baby Photoshoot. The images are better quality than shooting with your own phone, although they are not as good as a professional camera. So it’s not the same as having an in-person shoot, but what we can achieve may just surprise you! If you would like to learn more about how it all works, you can read the blog linked below & the info on this page. All the images on this page are from virtual shoots done via an awesome app
So let me answer some questions:
This shoot is all done via an app called CLOS. I then direct you on best position of light, where best to place baby, and help the person holding the camera to get the phone in the right place to capture the perfect moment. Through the app I take charge of the all-important moment when the shutter is pressed. In other words, I am the photographer and you are my assistant! It is all done virtually through the app, I don't need to leave my house so really you can be anywhere in the world. The images then download to me in a higher quality than usual which means I can then edit them in my style. The image's quality relies on good natural light and having the latest iPhone for the app to work. So if you do not have the newest iPhone, you may need to borrow one for the shoot day. The images are better than shooting with your own phone, but are not as good as a professional camera
Like my regular in-person newborn shoots these work best for tiny sleepy babies who are under two-weeks old. We may be able to do a shoot if you baby is a little older but can get trickier as they are awake and alert more. Once you have booked in for a newborn virtual shoot I will send you PDF. This has lots of information about the app, what to wear, location, what to prepare & using good natural light. The PDF also has lots of reference pictures to help you see what I am asking you to do. A couple of days before your shoot, I will ask you to download the app & do a test call to check its all working & show me the space you would like to use for photos. You can also ask me any questions about your upcoming shoot.
Ideally, we do the shoot when your baby is 6-10 days old. It really works best when your baby is super sleepy as they are easier to move about. We may need to play it by ear on shoot day to wait until your little one is fast asleep. I will send you a checklist of things you can do to prepare. The shoots I have done to have taken two calls - each call lasting 35-60 mins. Taking a break during the shoot day means you are free to feed baby & resettle them. I am good at what I do, but this new technology comes with limitations. I will attempt to get a good variety of images from your shoot. Once we have completed the shoot via the phone, I can download the images and edit them. You will receive a gallery of images to view within a week of your shoot.
ANY IMAGES ABOVE THE 5 INCLUDED will be charged at £10.00 per image.
ALTERNATIVELY YOU CAN PURCHASE THE remaining FULL SET OF EDITED IMAGEs & A DOWNLOAD LINK FOR AN EXTRA £75.00
